Centenary Celebrations 2013

In 2013 the Festival celebrated its Centenary with a host of events.

Pilgrim’s Progress

This “Come Sing and Play” performance of Vaughan William’s operatic masterpeice was the final event in a week of exploring Bunyan’s great allegory.

Alice Song Cycle

The Festival commissioned a new song cycle to celebrate its Centenary. The cycle was titled “Alice (Through the Century)”, composed by Julian Breeze, with lyrics by Lewis Carroll and Julian Breeze.

The Organ Event

The Organ Event was held on Saturday 23 February at St Mary Magdalene, Taunton. Click above for a report and photos of the event.

Church Day

A day of singing church music was organised for Saturday 20 April, comprising of both a Junior and Senior course.

Thanksgiving Service

A service of Thanksgiving was held on Sunday 19 May as part of the Centenary celebrations.

Lunchtime Concerts

A number of Lunchtime Concerts were held at St Mary Magdalene and St John’s church in Taunton, from May to October 2013.
