Become a volunteer

Volunteering is a great opportunity to see and be part of the inner workings of a festival.

Behind the magic, there are lots of busy bees running around, making the event run smoothly and safely. We know that volunteering can make a big difference to other people and the whole community, but the benefits can be even greater for you!

You don't have to offer a long-term commitment or a huge amount of time. Whether you’re in it for the long haul, or would like to get involved in a one-off activity or event.

If you have someone competing in the Festival, please consider volunteering at some point during the week.

Our festivals are supported almost entirely through the hard work and dedication of their volunteer teams.

From the early stages of planning the festival programme right through to tidying up at end of the event.

We wouldn’t be able to run the festival each year without them.

Volunteering at a local festival not only provides an opportunity to support the performing arts in your area, but it’s also lots of fun!

Roles can be varied and involve a wide range of different skills, such as:

• Support on the door

• Meeting both competitors and audience

• Taking entrance fees

• Selling merchandise

• Making and selling teas & coffees

• Scribing for adjudicators

It is also a great way to meet and work with other people who enjoy the arts as much as you do.
