OUR MISSION

The Taunton Festival of the Arts is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vibrant artistic talents within our community. Through music, drama, and dance, we aim to inspire creativity, foster local talent, bring people together and improve wellbeing. Our mission is to provide inclusive and accessible opportunities for participation and performance, enriching the cultural life of Taunton and the South West, ensuring the arts remain a central part of our community’s identity.

OUR VISION

A vibrant celebration of music, drama, and dance that inspires creativity, nurtures local talent, and enriches the community of Taunton. Our vision is to create joy by supporting young people to express and develop their performance talents. We aim that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy culture and benefit from a locally funded festival.

And here is how we do it……

· Showcasing Local Talent: Highlight a wide range of performances across music, drama, and dance, providing a platform for local children and groups to showcase their creativity and passion.

· Inclusive Participation: Ensure the festival is accessible to everyone in Taunton, offering free or low-cost events, and creating an atmosphere where people from all backgrounds feel welcome to participate.

· Schools and Education: Collaborate with local schools to empower young people to get involved in the festival, offering them a chance to perform, attend, and learn from experienced adjudicators.

· Creative Use of Venues: Utilize various venues across Taunton, to integrate the festival into the fabric of the town.

· Technology and Accessibility: Use digital platforms and social media to engage with a wider audience, making the festival accessible to those who cannot attend in person while promoting community pride.

· Year-Round Engagement: Extend the festival's presence beyond the event itself, offering performances throughout the year to keep the arts alive in Taunton and the rest of the South West.

· Local Business and Community Support: Work closely with local businesses and community organizations to create sponsorships and collaborations that make the festival a sustainable and integral part of Taunton life.

· Enhance careers in Performing Arts: Providing Bursaries, using highly qualified adjudicators and giving young people an opportunity to connect with people in the profession.
