Here’s a bit about us:

The Taunton Festival of the Arts has been part of the Somerset cultural landscape for 112 years, and is vital in providing a wonderful opportunity to young musicians, dancers, actors in Somerset.

Participants from this festival have gone on to some of the most prestigious universities and music colleges in the country and abroad. Each year hundreds of young people from our area take part in our festivals and competitions.

With the current artistic climate as it is, a lot of societies/organisations/festivals are having to close their doors and stop operating, stopping the next generation of artists from developing.

As it stands, the festival as a whole costs approximately £21,000 a year to run and while this sounds like a lot of money, the opportunity, worth and education is priceless for the next generation. The £21,000 includes venue hire, adjudicators fees, adjudicators travel and accommodation, certificates, medals and accompanist fees.

With prices rising this means that we are finding more and more private schools and students are entering, which of course we welcome, but it leaves a gap in the state sector, something that is already lacking in its arts education and opportunity. To ensure the gap doesn’t widen further we are determined to keep festival participation costs as low as possible, so everybody can enjoy and feel the benefits.

Sponsors provide the Festival with much-needed support and, in return, become associated with vibrant, high quality and entertaining events.

If you feel that you can support us, you will get:

● Free entry to all aspects of the festival, including its competitions.

● Reserved seating at all venues

● Full page digital Programme adverts and an opportunity for flag/banner advertising if you wish.

● Special thanks in the programmes.

● Invitation to our gala performance and concert.

The festival is always so valued by our local young musicians, dancers, actors and it’s vital to give them opportunities to perform and to engage with professionals within their industries to help create the next generation of performers in the UK.

We’re always open to ideas
